Civil Engineering Technician (HNC/BEng)

We are looking for a Civil Engineering Technician at EMN Plant Ltd.

Location: Sella Ness, Graven, Shetland Islands (office and site based)

Role Summary

The purpose of this role is to train and gain experience to becoming a Civil Engineering Technician. This will require attendance at college and on-the-job mentoring from the Senior Management Team.

You will undertake either a:

Key roles and responsibilities:

Train to Operate GPS setting out and surveying equipment
Build up experience and knowledge of working on a construction site
Work as part of a team and actively demonstrate willingness to support and achieve the overall business objectives
Complete site records, diaries, setting out drawings, use of AutoCad, etc.
Actively contribute to the continual improvement of the business and seek ways to make improvements to working methods and efficiencies in line with Company core values

Minimum course requirements:

Civil Engineering HNC

Minimum 1 Scottish Higher at C (or above) in Maths, or NC Civil Engineering (or equivalent)

Civil Engineering (Graduate Apprenticeship) BEng (Hons)

Minimum 3 Scottish Highers at BBC (or above) including Maths plus one other STEM subject, or NC Civil Engineer (or equivalent)

Key Requirements:

Excellent oral and written communication
Strong computer skills
Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all colleagues, and clients
Eager to learn and willingness to commit to complete required qualification.
