We are looking for an Apprentice Plant Operator at EMN Plant Ltd.
Location: Sella Ness, Graven, Shetland Islands (office and site based)
Role Summary
The purpose of this role is to work towards the ability to use heavy machinery to dig, lift and move materials on building sites. Full supervision by a qualified, experienced person shall be provided at all times. An Apprentice Plant Operator will usually gain experience in all types of equipment, such as excavators or dumpers.
Key roles and responsibilities:
- Using 360-degree excavators
- Moving earth and aggregate with excavators, loading shovels and dump trucks
- Loading shovel Operation
- Levelling out areas
- Using forklifts to unload and move materials around the site
- Carrying out safety checks and keeping machines running properly
- Changing buckets and other machine attachments
- Working on building sites doing noisy, physically demanding and messy work.

Key Requirements:
- Good communication skills
- Willingness to commit to apprentice training programme.
- Comfortable working outdoors, in all weather, all year round
