We are looking for an Apprentice Plant Engineer at EMN Plant Ltd.
Location: Sella Ness, Graven, Shetland Islands (office and site based)
Role Summary
The purpose of this role is to work under our experienced Engineers to learn the trade while undertaking formal apprentice training to gain a recognised qualification.
Key roles and responsibilities:
- Following company-created checklists to inspect and test vehicles.
- Performing standard mechanical repairs, such as changing brake pads.
- Learning repair techniques under the supervision of the Engineers.
- Testing plant/vehicles before and after repair procedures.
- Maintaining the workshop and customer areas and keeping stock areas well-organised.
- Comply with all HSE requirements at EMN premises and sites as well as all client sites and be committed to safe standards of work.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of three National 4 qualifications which must include Maths, English and either Science or a recognised craft subject
- Desirable to have completed either Skills for Work – Engineering Skills, or NC Engineering Practice (or equivalent)
- Eager to learn and willingness to commit to apprentice training programme.
- Comfortable working outdoors, in all weather, all year round
