We have a number of opportunities open for Groundworkers to join our team at EMN Plant Ltd.
The positions available are on a permanent basis.
Due to the location of the role and the absence of accommodation, relocation or travel support, applicants should be permanently based in Shetland already or be able to relocate at their own expense prior to commencement.
Location: Shetland, Various site-based locations
Role Summary
The purpose of this role is to prepare the ground before, during and after building, provide support services to plant, operate plant such as rollers and dumpers.
Key roles and responsibilities:
- Clearing a construction site
- Digging trenches for foundations
- Setting up a site, putting up barriers, safety signs, huts, etc.
- Following all health and safety procedures
- Providing excavation support to other construction professionals
- Interpreting the use of drawings and specifications
- Laying pavements, kerbs and driveways
- Concrete placing and finishing
- Removing and installing drainage and pipework systems
- Operating plant machinery, such as rollers and dumpers
- Preparing the ground/foundations to allow construction to begin
- Redirecting waterways and connecting pipes with existing pipework
- Working on various sites doing noisy, physically demanding work

Skills & Experience:
- Eligible to work in the UK on a permanent basis without restriction (no sponsorship available)
- CSCS card/NPORS
- Proven experience in similar roles
Desirable but not essential as training will be provided on the job:
- Full driving licence
Schedule:
- 40 hours per week
- Hours can vary depending on client requirements
