An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time, permanent Garage Stores Coordinator to join our busy plant/HGV maintenance team

Job Overview

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the job holder will maintain an organised and effective garage stock storage area by dealing with deliveries and managing stock levels, carrying out plant inspections (pre and post hire) and maintaining an organised and effective yard area. This role also involves equipment testing and record keeping in relation to relevant health and safety requirements.

Your Responsibilities and Duties will include:

  • Procure stock/parts/equipment as required.
  • Ensure all stock/consignment reorder requirements are identified.
  • Ensure purchase orders are raised and placed in a timely manner and that they are progressed until received.
  • Ensure all receipts are formally received, recorded, and processed.
  • Receiving and checking all deliveries.
  • Ensure all stock is stored in the correct manner.
  • Liaise with suppliers and handle queries relating to delivery and stock discrepancies.
  • Keep a record of and report any frequent shortages or spare items.
  • Keep stock management systems up to date.
  • Carry out regular stock takes.
  • Assisting with keeping the yard area tidy and organised, including monitoring yard skip capacity and arranging emptying as required.
  • Assisting with checking plant pre and post hire.
  • Delivery of plant and materials as required.
  • Ensure forklifts are secure with keys stored correctly when not in use
  • HSE – Ladder inspections
  • HSE - LOLER inspections and Testing
  • HSE - Lifting Equipment testing, controls and tagging
  • HSE - Ensure maintenance equipment is calibrated/quarantined as required
  • HSE - Create and review COSHH assessments as required
  • HSE - Carry out PAT testing as and when required

ESSENTIAL Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Good IT skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Maintenance experience with vehicles and/or plant and machinery
  • Full, valid driving licence

The following Qualifications and Attributes are desirable, but not essential as training will be provided:

  • Experience in ordering stock and stock control
  • Counterbalance Forklift
  • Telescopic Materials Handler
  • Portable Appliance Testing Training
  • First Aid Training - minimum 1-day course
