ABOUT US

EMN Plant Ltd is a newly established plant hire business with knowledge and experience dating as far
back as 1972. We were incorporated in 2007 maintaining the original business ethics previously used by
our Managing Director Edmund M Nicolson with the assistance of his three sons. Our base is located at
Sella Ness in the Shetland Isles, approximately 2 miles from the Sullom Voe Oil Terminal.

We offer a wide variety of services to our customers and are dedicated in meeting their requirements as
well as endeavouring to exceed them.

We have an Occupational Health and Safety Management System in place which is in alignment with BS
OHSAS 18001. This assists us in managing all of our operations and work activities to ensure they are
carried out safely as possible.

Fundamental to our daily routine is the importance of total involvement in managing safety and health
within the organisation. Therefore we ensure all employees have an understanding of their roles and
responsibilities, the importance in achieving conformity to the OHS policy & procedures and to the
requirements of the OHS management system.

In addition, we are currently in the process of broadening the scope of our management system so that it is also in alignment with BS ISO 14001 for Environmental performance.

Scania 8 wheeler crane truck

We are pleased to announce the arrival
of our new Scania 8 wheeler crane truck.
The truck is fitted with a Palfinger 36002
crane, plant body beavertail with hydraulic
ramps and hydraulic winch mounted in the
headboard. Available with the truck is a
concrete block grab, pallet forks and concrete skip.

From our base at Sella Ness we have a Commercial Garage facility where we are fully equipped to carry out the following works on plant and commercial vehicles:

  • Monthly Inspections

Our mechanics are fully qualified and experienced for all types of repairs and maintenance. For remote repairs and maintenance we have a dedicated van that is equipped
with a large range of tools and equipment. We keep a large stock of parts, filters, oils and consumables to ensure we can provide an efficient service with a quick turn around
for our customers.
